London Summer Summary

With summer well and truly over (and I don’t just mean the month of August), it feels like the right time to look back and see if we took advantage of every last ray of sunlight.

Let’s see, we travelled across the globe to:

Egypt Abu Simbel

Abu Simbel in Egypt

Camped at these festivals:

Pretended to be posh at these fine establishments:

  • Lord’s Cricket Grounds: BYO 20:20 game
  • Sky Garden (in what is affectionately known as the ‘walkie talkie’ building): food and wine for lunch in our group of 7 people
  • Theatre Royal, Drury Lane: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical

Explored these tourist attractions:

  • Tower of London
  • Warwick Castle
  • Thorpe Park

And in no particular order:

  • spent time in the sun at the park with Ned and Harvey, the dogs we borrow (thanks to
  • checked out British Summertime at Hyde Park
  • learnt about the history and medicinal properties of plants at the Physic Garden in Chelsea
  • drank cocktails on a canal boat cruise with Vestal Voyages from King’s Cross
  • and lastly, as recently as yesterday, took full advantage of the boozy brunch at Honest Burger’s at Liverpool St (£25 on YPlan)

And that’s why I love doing these summary blog posts. As I sit here in my warm fluffy pyjamas on an overcast day in London, I now feel satisfied that we’ve taken full advantage of the sun. Until next year!
